The drain valve is used as a device to release water and wastes into the open space.

Sheathed valves are often used as discharge valves at the ends of transmission lines, exits of dams and hydroelectric power plants. Beside needle valves (plunger) and discharge of fixed cones.
The air valve is very important as a device for inhaling and exhaling the pipelines because it prevents the increase of pressure or the occurrence of a vacuum in the line.
It is used for fluids such as raw water, drinking water, gas, air and steam up to a temperature of 120 °C.
